Show ST GEORGE CITIZENS WANT SHORTER ROAD Showing la Mada on Petition for More Direct Route to the Railway Representati David H Morris of Washington county appea ed before the state road commission at he capltol yes terday afternoon to present arguments In behalf of a shorter state road from 8t George to the Salt Lake Route railroad Mr Morris told the commission that the citizens of Rt George and the communities Immediately surrounding the "Dixie metropolis me-tropolis wanted a more direct highway to tbe railway The present state thorough fare likewise the only negotiable one at present from St George to the railroad Is ty way of Cedar Cltj This route Mr Morris told the com mission Is too roundabout We want a new road by way of Enterprise The commission took no action on Mr Morris s request yesterday The new highway he advocates has been put up to the commission before but that body is deferring a final dects on until It gets en glneers reports on he route At yeBterday s meeting State Engineer W D Heers and Bute Road JTtgineer B R.
