Show SOUTHERN PACIFIC TRAIN IS HELD UP DOS ANGELES, Cal., Sept. 20. Two armed men held up and robbed Southern Pacific northbound fast passenger train No. 75 late tonight eleven miles, north of here. They are reported to have secured se-cured nearly $1000 from the passengers. The train proceeded after a half hour's delay. The holdup is the second at about the same time and place, within two months. On the previous occasion, robbers went through a southbound train made up mostly of day coaches and obtained about $3200. They escaped and efforts to trail them with bloodhounds were futile. The hounds started a rabbit and forgot everything every-thing else. Train No. 75 is the fast night train from Los Angeles to San Francisco and generally Is crowded on Sunday night. It is believed the robbers attacked it so soon after It left Los Angeles in order to catch the passengers before they went to bed. |
