Show SCHOOLS TO OPEN. Early Harvest Allows Practically All j Children to Attend. Special to The Tribune. OGDEX, Sept. 20. Following the close of a two-days' institute attended by nearly all of the teachers engaged for j j this year. Superintendent "V. N. Peter- ; ! son announced today tiiat everything is ; in readiness for the opening tomorrow of i the Weber county public schools for the school year of 1914-1915. The principal speakers during the institute were from the University of Utah and the Utah Agricultural college. Because of the early harvest of fruit and farm products in this section this year the country schools will be opened with a larger enrollment than usual. In past years the attendance at the opening open-ing of the school year has been far below be-low the average because many of the older children are needed to assist in harvesting the crops. The school officials offi-cials have been lenient in the matter of compelling children .to attend school during dur-ing this period of the year. This year nearly all children of school age will be able to start in at the opening of the term. |
