Show CHILDREN FEATURE BEAUTIFUL SERVICE Ceremony of Crowning Statue Stat-ue of Virgin Is Observed at St. Mary's Cathedral. Beautiful Si. Mary's cathedral was crowded last night with hundreds who cauie to .see the ever impressive and touching eeremouy of the crowning ot the statue of the Blessed Virgin, iu which l!10 children, from 3 to If) years, took part. The services began at 7:30 with the process io u into the cathedral by the altar boys, led by Christian Koch, cross bearer; Frank Tavey and Alan Ma-houey, Ma-houey, chief acolytes. Next came the white-robed gi rls wearing veils aud wreaths, led bv the banner-bea rers Christine Calligati, Uthel Hogan, Margaret Mar-garet O'Brien, Eva Hunt, Edith McGinn, Mc-Ginn, Katharine Hunt. . After the reciting of the rosary and litany, the coronation procession began be-gan with a hymn bv the well-trained voices of the little children. The acts of consecration to the Sacred Heart aud the blessed Virgin were well read by Margaret Owens and Eldene Buckley. Buck-ley. Little Margaret Connors, the sweet-voiced soloist of the -junior choir of the cathedral, sang "ifail Mary," and as the children took up the pretty refrain the march to the foot of the altar of the Blessed Virgin was led by the Rev. Father McNalTy. Beryl Cecilia Ce-cilia Cray, the little girl selected for the coronation, placed the rose wreath on the head of the statue and all the children ib turn left their wreaths od the altar. The Row Father J. J. Mc-Nally Mc-Nally delivered a brief but impressive sermon, taking for his subject "The Honoring of the , Mother of Cod. " After the sermon Miss Cassandra Wood sang the Counod ' ' Ave Maria ' ' with exquisite expression. The services concluded con-cluded with Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament, the choir and children chil-dren singing- during the inarch from the cathedral the Haydn "Te Deum." The training of children was in charge of the officers of the Young; Ladies' Sodality of the cathedral, Miss Anna1 Rotzler, president ; Miss Martha Bubo Bu-bo tz, vice president; Miss Rose Gog-gin, Gog-gin, secretary; Miss Josephine Mooney, treasurer. They were warmly congratulated by the Rt. Rev. Bishop Scanlan, who presided pre-sided iu the sanctuary during tho beautiful beau-tiful ceremony, for their excellent work with the little ones.
