Show TRIAL OF ACCUSED BANKERS TO START Special to The Tribune. BOISE Idaho, Feb. 22. The joint trial of W. G. and S. D. Simpson, president presi-dent and cashier, respectively, of the American National bank of Caldwell, charged with puttincr in circulation canceled can-celed certificates of deposit in violation of the national banking laws, will open tomorrow morning in the federal court li c T..,i p-nni. q ri:nf.:,ii, netore juuc namv o. ijcuh,u, Unusual interest is centered in the trial due to the prominence of both bankers, known for many years as leading lead-ing financiers of the southeastern part of the state. They -Were jointly indicted some time ago. A galaxy of legal lights, i including three former United States , district attorneys, will participate in both the prosecution and the defense. The charges in the indictments will be prosecuted bv United States District Attorney McClear and hie assistants. S. D. Simpson will be defended by two former United States district at-"tornevs, at-"tornevs, Cnrg H. Lingenf elter, of the Idaho district, and Judge Atwell, former United States district attorney of Texas, with headquarters at Dallas. XV. G. Simpson will be rreiended by ex-Governor ex-Governor James H. Hawley, former United States district attorney for Idaho, and Attorney .Stone of Caldwell. |
