Show PREPARING FOR AIRSHIP RAIDS Correspondence of the Associated Press. LONDON, Feb. 9. The north wing of Buckingham palace is now being covered with wire netting aboyt twenty feet above the roof. This is the wing containing the living apartments of the royal family. Additional antiaircraft guns have been stationed in the neighborhood of the palace, pal-ace, one having been set in the center of Green Park during the last week. If a Zeppelin should be seen hovering over the palace there are at least a half dojen guns which would open fire upon it. Almost every da y additional preparations prepara-tions are being made to fight airships over London. "While m?uiy of the art treasures in t he museums have been removed to places of greater safety, there have been vigorous conipla ints in some papers that any of the muit valuable pictures, sculpture sculp-ture or objects of art still should remain exposed to the possibility of aerial attack on the galleries. |
