Klayden of Texas, speaking be- fore the .American school peace league here tonight, suggested a joint inWven-i inWven-i tion ot the American governments to ser-i ser-i tie the Mexican trouble. He said In parr: 1 "I thoroughly agree with a large part I of President Wilson's Indianapolis speech I in which he touched on the strife in Mexico. Mex-ico. I v '"However, there is a danger, very great and imminent, that forces may bejoosefl if the Mexican trouble continues much longer, which no man can control. "I feel quite ccfifident that more serious seri-ous trouble can be prevented. Rut it. run-not run-not be. done by ignoring the just demands of Americans in Mexico. "It may be reasonably assumed thai all th peaceful and orderly governments on r this confident would like to see the Mexican Mex-ican nuisance abated. I suggest a joint. intervention which really need not go beyond be-yond a. representation by nil. or nearlv all. the .American governments. It will accomplish ac-complish what we pacificists want and would probablv do it without war." |
