Show Will Give Band Concerts at the Garrick Theater OAEIi MOLTiTiBAJP. , Carl Mollerup, a veteran among the band leaders of Salt Lake, will head his instrumentalists at the Garrick theater March 1, In the iirst of a sorlcs of Sunday Sun-day concerts. Mr. Mollerup is a talented and enthusiastic band leader, who Is well known In this city. Thirty years ago he was a member of the symphony orchestra orches-tra of Copenhagen, of which Johan Svcndsen was director. Mr. Mollurup camo to America in 1SS0. joining, as a charter .member, the Kansas City Symphony orchestra, or-chestra, under the able conductorshlp of , Carl Bush. From thero he went for a season with America's best known opera conductor, Neuendorff, playing grand opora with the Emma Juch company. Later he settled In Denver, Colo., to tako tho position of solo cornet In tho BToad-way BToad-way theater orchestra. From Donver Mr. Mollerup came to Salt Lake City fourteen four-teen years ago and has been actively and well known in musical works here during that time. For four years Mr. Mollerup was connected with Professor Welho's Orpheum orchestra, and Is at prosent on Mr. Welho's stafC as solo cornet at the Utah theater. Mr. Mollerup was awarded the contract for municipal band concerts at the parks for the season 1012-13, and undoubtedly gave some of the best band concerts ever given In Salt Lake. |
