Show WILL OF Ml! IS STILL MISSING Old Photograph of Niece May Be Utilized to Discover Discov-er Rightful Heir. Judgo James W. McKinnoy said yesterday yes-terday afternoon that although tho law firm of Marioneaux, Stott, McKinncy & Powors has beon making every effort to locate a will of tho lato Thomas Morgan, Mor-gan, no success has been met. Morgan recently died, leaving several thousand dollars in bank, with no will that could be found among the effects left by him at the hosoital. Nevertheless, tho attorneys are continuing con-tinuing their offort to locate a will and tho heirs and they hope to be eventually eventu-ally successful. Concerning the case Judge McKinne3r yesterday said: It is true, as has been stated in tho public press, that if no will can be found and no heir exists, the estate will go to tho state of 'Utah eventually; out wc arc of tho opinion opin-ion that even if tho will can never be found, an heir or heirs will bo located who aro entitled to inherit. Among Mr. Morgan 's of fects is the photograph of a young woman. It cannot bo determined .lust when this photograph was taken, but evidently evi-dently it was some time ago. On tho back of the photograph are tho words, "Your loving niece, Minnie." Min-nie." This woman is probably Mrs. P. B. Haslot, who at ono time resided re-sided in this city, at 722 West First South stroet, and -who is probably t still living, though her prcsont whereabouts have not been ascertained. ascer-tained. It i3 not unlikely that Mr. Morgan's oatato may go to Mrs. Handley, if tho will can bo found, or, if nott to Mrs. HaBlot, if she bo still alive. It appears that Mr. Morgan was a Mason; that he was a member of Anchor lodgo No. 7, A. F, & A. M., of Buffalo, Wyo.; and it is thought that ho was also a member of tho B. P. O. Elks, though probably not a member of tho lodgo in this city. It has 'not vet been learned what became of the missing suitcase, which may contain Mr. Morgan's will. Just prior to his illness, when ho was preparing to go on a trip to California, ho bad two grips or suitcases, but only one has thus far been found. Wo feel that if the other suitcase could bo recovered recov-ered wo would obtain therefrom some paper making disposition of his estate. |
