Show TRAVIS WINNER IN LAKEWQRTH TOURNEY By International News Service. PALM BEACH, Fla., Fob. 7. By winning the Lakoworth Golf tournament tourna-ment today "Walter J. Travis of Gardon City rcpea'ted his victories of 1912 and 1913. Travis defeated John Naething of Euglewood by 3-2 in a well played xmV.ch, holing a putt on the edgo of tho sixteenth green as a windup to an interesting in-teresting .contest. A largo gallery followed fol-lowed the match and saw somo brilliant f:olf on the first nine holes. Travis ed by one up at tho turn as Naething f ot into trouble and was unable to equal he par four Travis secured. By winning: the tenth and twelfth Travis got a lead of two up, which ho hold until ho finally won tho match. D. 0. Murray of Yahundasis was the favorite in the second flight, but J. C. Head of Oakmout took a 3-2 victory by playing tho best frame of golf he has shown here this season. In the third flight H. C. Colbon of Indianapolis equaled Travis's score, going out and defeated G. C. Beckwith of Minneapolis 5-4 In the final. J. B. C. Tappan of Nassau won tho consolation, defeating E. n. Fitler of Merion 3-2. |
