Money Is cuslor and public Interest In-terest In Investments Is Increasing. From every city all over the country tho nows Is coming that the hanks, at their annual meetings, are voting to enter the new federal reserve and currency system. Thero aro some excellent principles embodied em-bodied In tho new law. and the fact that there will he sreater elasticity of the currency cur-rency will help to prevent the credit panics that have occurred during the past llfty years. In Utah the seasonable weather Is fa-vorablo fa-vorablo for the movement of merchandise, and tho country stores arc getting a fair amount of business, while jobbers In different dif-ferent lines In tills city report business conditions to bo as good as at this- time last year. Local retail tradp. Is being stimulated by specially advertised sales, while collections are reported a:s being fairly satisfactory. Trade In general shows some improvement, and reports from various sources all over the state Indicate that there Is a hopeful view taken of conditions con-ditions for 191-1. Most of the banks of the state have hold their annual meetings, and reported fairly encouraging conditions to their stockholders, and the consensus of opinion seems to be that the outlook appears moro optimistic. Next Monday, February 2, the annual stockholders' meetings will be held of the HotclUtah Operating Co.. the Home Firo Insurance Co. and the Utah Savings & Trust Co. Grant & Co. will lake place, and on February It the annual stockholder' meeting of the Consolidated Wagon Sc Machine Co. will be held and the reports of the ofllcors will be given.
