Show G. H. Will HEADS IIIIIinjULL MOOSE Accepts Gubernatorial Nomination; Nomi-nation; P. Monroe Smock for Congress. Special to Tho Tribune. BOISE, Ida., Sept. 17. The -standard bearer of the Bull Moose party in this state -will be G. H. Martin of Sandpoint Bonner county, an attorney who was slated by the stato central commlttco of tho party for attorney general, but who was moved to tho position of gubernatorial guberna-torial candidate after Paul Clagstono of Clagstono. who had been placed in nomination, nomi-nation, refused to accept, Adam Barclay, Bar-clay, who reslgnod as a vice chairman of tho Republican state central committee, commit-tee, was aelocted by the Bull Moose leaders lead-ers as tho party's candidato for attorney general. But two vacancies are left on tho Btato ticket, tho third party refusing to nominate nomi-nate candidates for auditor and Justice of the supreme court. The ticket as It now stands is as follows: fol-lows: Presidential electors, Henry C. Olney of Sandpoint, Eli M. Harris of Marysvllle H. Harland of Payette and L. M. Earle of Idaho Falls. For govcrnor G. H. Martin of Sandpoint. Sand-point. For lieutenant governor T. O. Boyd of Twin Falls. For congress P. Monroe Smock of New Plymouth. For secretary of state O. V. Badley of Caldwell. For state treasurer John E. Tates of Boise. For state auditor C. C. Miles of Webb. For mine inspectoi" K. H. Skells of Kellogg. For attorney general Adam Barclay of Jerome. The Bull Moose party has had Its difficulties dif-ficulties in securing a candidate for governor. gov-ernor. The original plans of the members mem-bers of the stato central committee called for the nomination of U. Harland of Payette Pay-ette for governor Mr. Harland Is president presi-dent of the state grange and widely known over tho stato. For some reason never thoroughly, explained Mr. Harland was moved up from governor to presidential presi-dential elector. The question of the selection se-lection of a gubernatorial candidato then becamo the paramount Issue. Paul Clagstono, Clag-stono, who had but recently been defeated for tho nomination of governor on tho Republican ticket for that office, was offered of-fered the nomination. He conferred with party leaders at length' and then left Boise for the north without accepting. A few days later he declined to accopt and Mr. Martin, who had been selected for attorney general, was offered tho nomination nomi-nation and accepted. |
