Without arriving at anything like an understanding, several letters have passed between City Attorney Attor-ney Val Gideon and William Glasmann, president of the Ogden 'River Reservoir company, relative to tho proposed joint operations In hulldlng- the South Fork dam and reservoir. Glasmann has rejected reject-ed the first proposition of the city commissioners com-missioners as ridiculous and presented only as a "feeler." Tn reply, tho city attorney has suggested that Glasmann point out In detail Just where the proposition proposi-tion docs not suit his Ideas. Some time ago Mayor A. G. Fell outlined out-lined a tentative agreement by which It was hoped to provide a working basis for the tlnal agreement upon which tho city and Glaamanirs company could proceed with the improvement. In his reply the former mayor states that he submitted the proposition to his associates and those who arc to furnish the money for tho development of the project, and he declares that they regarded It ok Impossible Impos-sible even as a working basis, requesting the commissioners to withdraw their proposition nnd present a. new one. The answer ot the city commissioners, through Attorney Gideon, was mailed to the former city official today. It sets forth that. In view of his failure to object ob-ject specifically to the conditions not favored fa-vored by him, It Is impossible to arrive at an Intelligent understanding of his attitude. Tn this respect the lotter states: "While wo think that the proposition contained In the communication sent you was such as the city ought to and would Insist upon, still. If you will Indicate In some definite way what particular provisions pro-visions you say mako It lmposslblo for you or your company to consider, the commissioners will bo only too glad to go over the matter and see what can be done, if anything, looking to an elimination elimina-tion or modification of such features as make it difficult for you to have your company conduct further negotiations." It Is then declared that the propositions were not Indefinite and tho city commissioners commis-sioners demand some statement relative to their alleged unfairness. Glasmann has riot yet replied to this communication. |
