Show RAY PECK'S INJURIES PUT HIM IN HOSPITAL Surgeons yesterday removed from the body of Ray Peck, motorcycle rider, twenty-seven silvers, ranging from one-half one-half to two and one-half Inches In length. Most of them had been driven Into the flesh and lay alongside the bones. Peck's left shoulder, arm and leg were literally filled with wooden splinters. In Tuesday night's racing at the Motordrome, Mo-tordrome, Peck took a aplll while he was going the fastest lap ever made on the track. His wheel skidded and he was sent scooting along the planking. At. first It was thought that his Injuries were but slight scratches. Yesterday his hurts were found to be more serious and I he was removed to St. Mark's hospital, where he underwent an operation covering cover-ing a period ofmore than one and one-half one-half hours. The surgeons sa Peck .will be a patient pa-tient at the hospital for at least a week or ten days, and perhaps for a. longer lime. |
