Show ALLEGED SWINDLER OF ANDERSON TAKEN . Bringing with him J- II. Palmer, alias ".Tack Porter," accused of swindling Charles A. Anderson out of 32000 on a fake horse race, Police Inspector C. A. Carlson returned from Pocatcllo at I o'clock this mornlnsr. Palmer was locked tip In the city jail without ball, charged with obtaining money under false pretenses. When searched at the police station ho was found to have S8.f0 in car.li, a SG00 diamond dia-mond ring, a 5300 diamond stickpin, a gold watch worth $150 and other articles of high value. Palmer gave his occupation occu-pation as that of a bartender. The alleged swindler fought every step In the extradition proceedings under which he was returned to Utah. Ho employed em-ployed a firm of lawyers at Pocatcllo and succeeded in gaining his liberty temporarily tempo-rarily under a habeas corpus writ. Inspector In-spector Carlson placed him under arn'st on another charge, however, and the second sec-ond hearing on the requisition rapers proved successful.
