Show omobfle Speedway to Saltair Planned by Saltair Improvement Company j President D. C. Mclno'ro of the J Saltalr Improvement company stated positively yesterday that tins speedway speed-way which his company 1h building between thiH city and tho Beach City townsltc on the lake shore, will bo completed, fenced and Lurned over to a jocaj automobile club before the close of the prescpt season. The con tract for the gruriing: of the speedway has been lei to a local construction con-struction company which has Us oqulprnent ready to begin work immediately im-mediately the word Is given. The contracting company claims that, with the use of steam shovels and automatic auto-matic dumping ears, such as will be used, the grading will be completed thirty days after work Is begun. Mr. Mclntyre says he hardly expects the completion of tho speedway in so short a time, but that within sixty days tho course should bo doing service. Tho route, as now definitely decided on, will extend westward on North Temple street to the City limits; thenco It will swl-jg over to the Salt Lake & Los Angeles track and will parallel tho track to a point about 600 rods east of the eastern end of tho Saltalr pier. Hero It will cross tho track and continue almost duo west to Beach CI tj, Bxpariments show that tho noil along tho projected routo will lend Itself admirably to road-makInK when mixed with gravel and oiled, and this formula will be followed In tho building build-ing of tho speedway.
