Show LIST OF WORTHLESS CHECKS IS GROWING The list of worthless checks alleged to have been passed in Salt Lake by D. W. Wade, colored, who left the stata a few days ago. Is growing In length. Two additional worthless pieces of paper were nlaced In the bands of Chief of Police S. M. Barlow yesterday one for 517 and one for ?20. This brings the number of "rhnnv" nli"rli,i allotted to hvr tui'.'i Issued bv Wnde, to five, amounting to $137. All eheckn were on tho Statu Bank of Utah, and were made pavable to various va-rious fictitious persons. It Is alleged that they were cashed bv local bartenders bartend-ers and others among Wade's personal friends. Wade hail evidently contemplated leaving leav-ing Oie city as all the rneekj were" dated Julv '-'2. the dny on which Wade left Salt Lake for pnrts unknown. |
