Show TIL 01 S HER GHflRGEIDVEflRS OLD Man Servidig Term for Burglary Burg-lary Will Be Arraigned Today in Provo. Special to The Tribune. PKOVO. March 30. Frank Connors, now a convict in the state prison at Salt Lake, will bo brought to Provo tomorrow morning to be arraigned on an indictment indict-ment charging him with murder in the first decree. This case is one of more than usual interest. Connors shot and killed William Strong, a policeman of Provo. July "J7, 1S00. The following year he was tried and convicted of murder in the first degree de-gree and sentenced to life imprisonment. After his conviction a decision of the stale supreme court in another case made it appear that the information filed against Connors was defective. Ho was then tried on a charge of burglary, convicted con-victed and sentenced to serve ten years. Immediately after his conviction Judge Hatch, then on the district bench at Provo. called a spocial grand Jury and a new indictment charging murder in the first degree was drawn. it is on this indictment, which has been sleeping ten years, while Connors served his burglary sentence, that he will be arraigned Saturday. |
