The budget figure in 1940 was $45,464.66 and in 1939 was $47,440 48. The proposed budget figures and allotments had been advertised adver-tised for several weeks previous to the hearing Thursday night. Taxpayers Peter Pitchios and George Wells attended the meeting. meet-ing. It was noted that the increase in-crease in city levy from 13 5 mills to 15 mills was necessary to keep revenue at an even level following a cut in valuation from $2,257,780 to $2,015,614. A report from the officers and library committee of the Women's Wo-men's Civic club, library sponsors, spon-sors, for 1940 was read by Councilman Coun-cilman Art J. Sorenson. . The American Legion post No. 30 was granted a year's lease on the Civic Center and an appropriation appro-priation of $100 was made for heat and light for the caretaker's apartment. O |
