Show WINNERS NAMED FOR DECORATING IN XMAS CONTEST The Harvey L. Goff home in Copperton was awarded first prize in the Christmas home decorating de-corating contest, Parker Gray, chairman of the contest for the junior chamber of commerce, announces. an-nounces. A committee of judges toured Bingham district Christmas eve and made final selections- Other winners were the J- F- Barkle home in Copperton, second, and the C. E- Adderley home at 378 Main street, third. First prize winner will receive $7.50. The three front porch arches of the Goff home were filled with black cutout pictures, a Christmas star scene, a candle and a poinsettia, lighted from the rear, and with a '"Merry Christmas" greeting. The Barkle residence was decorated de-corated with colored lights strung around the porch and with a wreath and "Merry Christmas" in the center. The second prize was .$5.00. A decorated and lighted Christmas Christ-mas tree in the front of the Adderley Ad-derley home had its counterpart in the outline in Christmas green i and lights of another tree around the door frame of the house. Third place award was for $2.50. There were many other very attractively decorated homes and the junior chamber committee was pleased with the response to their request for contest entrants. en-trants. Notable for evidences of Christmas Christ-mas spirit were the Bingham hospital, with Christmas chimes, carols and decorations, the beautiful beau-tiful window murals at the Central Cen-tral and Bingham high schools featuring the nativity; the Rex T- Tripp, Ross Hocking, Eugene Chandler, C W- Adderley, E-E. Longfellow, Alma Mantle, W. H. Trevarthen, A. A- Macke, Stephen Steph-en Pickering homes and others, and the lighted tree at the Utah Power and Light substation. ' |
