Show CHAPMAN WILL HAVE CIRCUIT OF TRACKS The Bicycle World says that an eastern circuit of bicycle- tracks Is not merely the dream of an optimistic promoter, but will assume tho form of an actuality was learned this week. The eastern circuit will be under tho general management of John M. Chapmnn. tho successful manager man-ager of the Newark (N. J.) Velodrome, and associated with him In the venture will be Frank Million, the "patron saint" of bicycle racing and riders in Newark. Besides the Newark Velodrome, the circuit cir-cuit will embrace tho eight-lap track at Revere Beach, Mass., the Clifton (N. J.) Stadium, a six-lap board track, and new saticcrs at New Haven. Conn., and Providence. Provi-dence. R. I. It is barely possible that the Clifton Stadium management will not enter en-ter the scheme to bring riders from the other side lo America, but as the circuit will attract all the prominent riders now competing In this country. It Is not likely that the Clifton saucer can afford lo remain re-main without the fold. Chapman wns In New Haven this week and while there signed a lease for a plot of ground measuring 200 by 350 feet, situated sit-uated at Lighthouse Point, on the sound. An eight-lap track 20 feet In width, will be built Immediately, and the grandstand and bleachers will accommodate G000 per-sons. |
