PHILADELPHIA. March 2. A universal univer-sal strike of union workers and their sympathizers, to begin at midnight Friday, Fri-day, was proclaimed by the Central Labor La-bor union of Philadelphia and vicinity tonight. The strike lenders declare that luo.OOO men will stop work at that hour If the Rapid Transit company does not consent to arbitrate its differences with the striking carmen. Telegrams were received from the Chi'-oco and Sin Francisco Fran-cisco Federations of labor, with 2G0.000 and 17.V000 members, respectively, pledging pledg-ing their moral and financial support to the cause of their I'hil.idclphla brethren. Strong Resolutions.
