Show EXTENDING RELIEF 10 STRiCKEN REFUGEES No More Uodies Recovered From Durke Valley Avalanche; Digging Goes On. SPOKANE. Wash.. March 2. Uelicf committees were organized at Wallace. Ida., today to look after iho Injured and destitute refugees from the several avalanches ava-lanches along Iho llurke valley. No morn bodies were found today. About 150 men are still at work at Ilurko removing tlio debris from the railroad rail-road tracks so that traffic may be resumed. re-sumed. People along the valley continue to move from tho danger zone. A number of funerals were hold today' to-day' and It Is expected Iho last will be held tomorrow. AH the Injured are well cared for and no further deaths have been reported, although Mrs. Ii. II. Pas-coo Pas-coo and Al Neuman aro in a critical condition. A half dozen slides have occurred at Sunset Penke, nine miles from Wallace, and as many more at Beaver Creek, twelve miles distant. Two men were buried at Sunset Pcako, but managed to dig their way out. All prospectors are. leaving that section sec-tion until tho danger of slides Is past. |
