Show MAYOR AND COUNCIL DISAGREE AT NEPHI Special to Tho Tribune. NEPHI, Jan. . The new city administration adminis-tration took office here yesterday noon. G. M. Whilmore. the first Democratic j mayor of Nephl. delivered a strong message mes-sage to the council, full of helpful suggestions sug-gestions for a greater and better city. Mayor Whltmore submitted three appointments, ap-pointments, W. A. C. Bryan for city attorney. at-torney. P. P. Christlson for marshal and Evan Harris for street supervisor. As all the appointees named by the new mayor are staunch Democrats and the council, which Is four to one Republican, Re-publican, refused to confirm them, the old officers will continno to hold over until the mayor and council can "get together." The members of tho council coun-cil are James Garrett, Jr., Ahno Hague, W. G. Orme, Alonzo Ingram. Republicans, Republi-cans, and Enoch Burton. Democrat. |
