| Show at alie close of alie OF THE FIFTEENTH academic school year the students congratulated upon their success abe closing exercises of the first term of the fifteenth academic year were held at the academy this morning the assembly hall decorated and a large number of friends and patrons ware present to listen to the exercises of the board presidents john and cluff bishop M tanner don C young bishop aeo esnell and mrs ansie Y gates were on the stand the teachers made very encouraging reports in regard to attendance and progress of the students the principals report will appear in full was read and listened to with interest words of praise and en coura were by general superintendent dr K G and president A 0 smoot president smoot iti of the board congratulated alie students upon their marked success he called attention to tr e noise and bustle of the cars by which the school had been annoyed but he was pleased to announce that matters were now in such a chape that work on jhb new building would be resumed next year although was compelled to be absent on account of sickness sic kiess yet the members of the choir showed by their excellent aliat prof uiles instructions and drills had not been for botten the provo house orchestra also rendered some fine selections under the directions of prof jep person and added aruch to the success of the exercises the prospects for the future of the academy are very flattering and next term will no doubt see a lare increase in the mamber of students there were students in attendance this term they come from various counties of alie territory and from nevada arizona kentucky and mexico every effort is bein made to make alie normil department of the academy as and complete ai possible the t of is beina made a ial feature giving to thy of the commercial importance of the territory and the consequent demands for a business education uca tion by many of our youn men a commercial department wll nest year be established |
