Show 00X1 CARNIVAL IS SLATED FOR TONIGHT Proceeds Are to Be Turned Over to Mrs. C. C Riley by Athletic Club. A boxing carnival Is scheduled for Monday Mon-day night's entertainment by tho Manhattan Man-hattan Athletic club In the now gymnasium gymna-sium rooms. No. 5 West First South street, and a great many tickets havo been sold, the proceeds of which will go to Mrs. C. C. Riley, widow of the policeman who was murdered by a thug. H. K. Downing, the bicycle rider, ls tho manager of the club and he says that he has arranged a card that will please tho boys. There will be live boxing box-ing contests and each one ought to be a hummer as far as weight and science goes. "Bird Leg" Collins, who is to box a four-round exhibition with his sparring partner, Ross, will show what he can do In the glove line and the fans will be able to get a Uno on him. Ho will have to be pretty fast to beat Sullivan with whom ho Is matched, but he Is confident that ho am do It. Mnnagcr Downing said that he expected every ticket sold by S o'clock. The large hall which the club has has undergone un-dergone a complete change. There Is a seating capacity of about 700 people and the ring Is so situated that It con be seen from all parts of the house. The boxing contests havo been arranged between amateurs and each will go four rounds. The opener Is slated for 8 p. m. and the management promises that thero will be no waits. |
