Show I BATCH OF MINING NEWS FROM EUREKA Special to The Tribune. '! EUREKA. Nov. 2D. The property or j the Zuma Mining company which has been , : under the management of mining men , from Idaho, who have had the controling (! Interests of the mine under an option i and have boon paying all operating ex- 1 penses, closed down temporarily this 1 1 week. The Idaho people tried to secure a six-month's extension on their option, I j but one of the big stockholders could not i, see It that way. and as he held a big bunch of the stock and refused to extend . the option, operations came to a stand- j still. The Zuma is one of the best pros- poets In the east end of the district and a sure dividend maker with proper management, man-agement, and It Is to be hoped that matters will be so arranged that development devel-opment work will be continued. Interest in Tintic is now centered on ; the work going on at the McIClnley claims located southwest of .the Centennial Eureka Eu-reka mine. The stock in this company Ik held principally by local people, who for the past live years have been paying, i assessments for Its development. About J two years ago the company made ar- i rangemonts with the management of the i General Logan mining property to oper- ate their ground through the General Logan shaft, and erected on their property prop-erty an electric hoist and put in tho latest mining machinery. Henry ilatsch. I a well-known and practical miner, was ft put in charge of the work and after at- I taining a satisfactory depth and finding that the ground was similar to the prop- I ortles of its neighbors, tho Centennial C Eureka, Bullion Beck and Eureka Hill I mines, he began to have his men drift t to the north and south and they ar6 now J passing through low grade ore with the prospect that ere the close of the year the McKinley will produce as high a I grade of ore as Its wealthy neighbors. The Dagmar company Is having work done on the Star and Pioneer claims In K North Tintic and lay clnlm to the fact that they have the extension of the vein I which extends north from the Gemini I property, which no doubt they have, as I the deeper the workings in the Gemini D nnd Ridge and Valley, mines on the north I vein the richer the 'oro becomes. The I 1900 level In the Gemini Is now pro- I ducing finer ore than that found on the I 1600 level and with deep mining the North I Tintic properties will produce untold mll- I lions In a few venrs. honce tho nrn- Iphecy of all mining experts who have visited that section. Tho ore Is there and all it wants is capital and labor to produce It. This Is being proved by the operations In the Wasa mine In North Tintic. This property Is owned only by Scandinavians and worked by people from the countries of the far north, and while It Is almost impossible to obtain any information in-formation from them they are making nood and will have a big dividend payer ere long. Superintendent Joseph Trcloar of the Victor mine has let a lease to A. J. Mick-ler Mick-ler on the 700 level, who Is sending out a forty-live-ton carload each week which shows values In copper from JO to 12 per cent. The workings at tho Beck Tunnel arc going on In a methodical way, drifting being done on tho 1100 level. Superintendent Superin-tendent Perry Fuller Is working miners In the new workings of the property at a depth of 300 feet, from which good shipping ship-ping ore Is being uncovered, but most of the shipments of ore are being made from the products of the old workings of the mine. The property is now on a paying basis, and the indebtedness is being reduced re-duced monthly. The Victoria mine a one of the best paying properties in Tintic for money Invested. In-vested. The ground Is operated through the workings of the Grand Central mine at Robinson and is .making thousands of dollars each month for Its shareholders. It Is a regular shipper of from two to four carloads of first-class oro each week, but on the 1000 and HOOnfoot levels of tho mine the prospects .could not be finer for any dividend -payor throughout Tintic. Tin-tic. The Victoria. like Us sister mine, will be a great producer for years to come. Tho surface ore is only at the present time belng removed. |
