PEARY CLUB SECRETARY MAKES LONG STATEMENT North Sydney Makes Ready to Welcome Explorer Who Disputes Dis-putes Cook's Claims. NORTH SVDNKV. X. S., Sept. 12. Plenty of evidence designed to back up' his Statement that Dr. Cook did not reach the north pole is in the hands of Commander Peary, according to assertions asser-tions made here tonight. This view is taken by a large number of explorers, scientists and others, who are here to greet the explorer. , 'Commander Peary will have with him incontestable proof to support every statement he has made in connection con-nection with Dr. Cook's trip to the Arctic.'-' Herbert I.,.
