Miss .Joy Witbeck was the hostess lo a number of her friends at a watermelon water-melon party given at her home Thursday Thurs-day evening. The colors were pink and green and beautiful pink asters and light feathery greens carried out tho color scheme in the parlor. Between the living room and dining room were hung heavy portieres of pink satin. In the dining room the colors were most effectively used. An elaborate ! centerpiece of 'cluny over pink satin, with doilies to match, covered the table, from which dainty refreshments, including ices in white, pink and green, wore served. From the four corners ot the chandelier were hung ribbons of pink .satin, which were caugjit at the sides of the table in pretty bows. Miss Alela Witboek and Miss Jessie Sharon served punch on the lawn from a table massed with beautiful golden glow, while, baskets of these bright flowers hung about 111 profusion. TI10 artistically decorated rooms, tho dainty refreshments, the lawns bright with flags and bunting, and glowing glow-ing with lanterns of pink and green, nil served to make the affair one of I ho. prettiest social events of tho season. A wedding of interest lo many Salt Lakers was that of Miss Louise M. Prosser and Arthur Q. Adamson. which took place Wednesday morning. September Sep-tember 1 at. the home of the brido in New London, Ohio. Miss Prosser spent a year in the citv as tho secretary of the V. W. C. A.. Mr Adamson being connected at the same time with the V. M. C. A. Miss Christcnsen is one of Salt Lake's very promising art ' ists, who has had three years of Eastern East-ern training. She has had chargo for a year of tho an department at the state normal at Cedar City, and will spend two years in the new academy in ! Paris. ! Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Piter gave a handsomely appointed dinner at their homo last evening, in honor of their guests, .Mr. and Mrs. Duncan of Medill, Nrv. Covers were laid for ten.
