The caso of Serena Se-rena Connors vs. Rasmus Hanson e-t nl has been occup3'ing tho attention of tho district court "hero since it convenod Mondas last. The case is being tried beforo a jury, whose duty it will bo to determine whether or not Maria Nielsen, Niel-sen, deceased, tho mother of Mrs. Connors, Con-nors, was in her right mind when she made her will leaving her estate, con-, con-, sisting of about $13,000. to others and disinheriting her daughter. Mrs- Connors. Con-nors. .Mrs. Connors 's interests aro being looked after by Attorneys Jacob Johnson John-son and Lewis LnrHon. while tho case is being defended b3' Ephraim Hanson and D. Woolc3'.. Tho plaintiff. Mrs. Connors, alleges that hor mother's mind was so affected 1)3' strong drink and old age .that sho was mental- incapable of making a will, and that she was unduly influenced influ-enced and coerced into making the document docu-ment that the plaintiff now seeks to havo set aside. Mrs. Connors is the daughter of Soren Nielson of Ephraim, who died some 3'oars ago, leaving an estate of about $10,000. of wliich Mrs. Connors received one-third. At 'that time William Wil-liam T. Reil was appointed tho cuar-dian cuar-dian of Mrs. Connors, on account of her being mentally incapable of handling her proport3 but after a legal battle in the probate court the guardian was dismissed. dis-missed. Olc Jensen, a prominent and respected citizen of Mauti. died Monday last at 11 a. in. at tho home, of .his sou. Henry Jensen. Mr. Joiifpu was a native of Denmark, haying been born there September Sep-tember 13, 1S-1D. nc caino to Utah with his parents in 1S02, and located in this vallc3. He took part in tho Indian wars in this part of tho state. Ho was a member of the Mormon church and fulfilled ful-filled two missions, one at St. Johns, Ariz., aud the other in his nativo country, coun-try, Denmark. Mr. Jensen bad boen in the sheep business for a number of 3'cars and was fairl3' prosperous. Ho occupied the position of jnstico of the peace for .'i number of 3'ears here. Mr. Jenson's wifo died about four years ago. Three children survive him. Henry, Helena Hel-ena Madson and Lvdia Moffitt. The funeral services wero held from the tabernaclo at 2 p. m. Thursda3' afternoon. after-noon. A largo crowd attended. |
