Yesterday aftornoon tho annual election elec-tion of tho Salt Lake stock ami mining min-ing exchango was held at tho local board rooms in tho Walker Bank building. build-ing. Thoro was nothing moro than tho usual interest manifest in the proceedings, proceed-ings, which resulted in tho selection of tho following members to serve as govornors for tho ensuing year: James A. Pollock, William II. Tibbals, W. J. Browning, William II. Child, .lames L. Hamilton, W. D. Nebehcr, Samuel If. Noel, 11. A. Barney and 11. S. Wiminor. Henry W. Dorschcr, who is one of tho oldest members and has been active in its workings, and Fred L. Davis retired from the board, and R. A. Barney and I. S. Wimmer were chosen to servo in their places. Ir. Dorechcr has planned to take an extended trip abroad, and during the present year will bo absent a great deal of the time. The new governors will meet within a few days and perfect -their organization. organiza-tion. It "is said that it has been decided de-cided to elect James A. Pollock to the presidency, which was filled aceptably by him for several years. While he is away a great deal of tho time, he is ono ot tho most experienced men in the organization, and has becu a member mem-ber of the organization since its inception. in-ception. James A. Shorten, who grew up with the exchange, has no opposition for the secretaryship, so far as known, and Caller Bevoridgc will doubtless bo asked to remain in his position. The exchange has closed its most success--ful year, and this should be smother record-breaker. |
