CIirCAfiO, Jan. 23.-rTho Record-i Record-i Herald today prints tho following news article: Robert Mather, president of the' Rock Island & Pacific Railrond compnny, and the Moore brothers, who control the Rock island-'Frisco properties, have decided de-cided to part company. -Mr. -Matner, wno nas nao nis ueaa-quartcrs ueaa-quartcrs in New York for a number of years, has accepted the position of chairman of tho board of the Westing-house Westing-house Electric, and Manufacturing company, com-pany, and as sueh it is understood that he is to be in, charge of .the company's legal nnd financial affairs. In the east, it is said that Mr. Mather was offered a tempting salary aud decided to sever his relations with tho Moorcs. Tn connection con-nection with tho affair, however, it is rumored that tho relations between tho Moorcs and Mr. Mather have not, been as pleasant recently as they might have been. It is understood that his place as preaient of tho two companies, which are the security holding companies for the Moore roads, will be filled by B. F. Yoakum, who now spends a largo part of his time in New York. Mr. Mather is also general counsel for tho Rock i Island road. This positiou probably will bo given to Richard A. Jackson, now first vico-prosidcut and general solicitor. The position of general solicitor probably prob-ably will be abolished. Tho retirement of Mr. Mather may also indicate that tho Moorcs are going to rovivo their plan of. separating the Rock Island and 'Frisco systems and of changing their financinl organizations. |
