S080AY SI THE COMMERCIAL GLUB Members Inclined to Back lJ Action of Board of Governors. - Effects of tho recent order of tho board of governors of tho Commercial club to close tho buffet on Sunday woro apparent at an early hour Saturday night. Tho club was well filled with members, apparently determined to lako advantage of tho rumainiug open hours and to prepare for the long period of dryness which should intervene between be-tween 12 o'clock Saturday night and tho opening hour Monday morning. It is probably safe to say that thero has never beo'u so great a rush on tho buffet of a Saturday evening since the opening of the club, except on somo special occasions. Little ndverso comment on the matter mat-ter was heard, howovcr, most of tho members being inclined to look upon tho matter as more or loss of a joke, although thero was apparently ovory disposition to support tlio action of tho board of governors in tho matter. Tho smoking room was tho most popular place in tho club, however, and tho attendants at-tendants were kept busy conveying liquid refreshments to mcmbors as it j in anticipation of the closing of tho buffet.. |
