Barker took placo Wednesday afternoon in the Salt Lake Temple nn'd was followed bv a beautifully arraugfd rocoptiou giveu in their honor in the evening at tho home of tho bride's mothor ou Washington Wash-ington avenue. Tho guest list was limited lim-ited (o about thirty, aud included only the relatives apd 'a few close friends of the young couple. Masses of roses wero everywhere in tho rooms, red being be-ing used in ihn" parlor and whito and pink in the dining-room. The sisters of the bride served puueh. Tho bride's dress was whito chiffon over' taft'ota with laco trimmings, and sho carried a cluster of bride's roses. Tho groom is secretary of tho Doe-Stanford Shoo company com-pany and has a wide circlo of friends. J'he brido is a graduate of the class of '04 of tho hiyh school and later was a student at tho Agricultural college at Logan. Mr. aud Mrs. Barker left Thursday on tho limited for Colorado Springs, Denver and other places of interest in Colorado. Thoy will bo gouo about two weeks and will bo at homo after July lo at their new homo, 1217 Washington avenue. The members of tho Ogden Bridgo club woro the guests of honor Thursday afternoon at a luncheon given by Mrs. E. M. Allison, Jr., at tho University club iu Salt Lake City. After luncheon the party adjourned to tho Allison home on East First South street, where- a gamo of bridge .was cn,io3'cd, followed by a beautifully appointed tea. A large silver bowl of red roses on a cluny cloth formed the pretty conterpioce of the table. Prizes wero won by Mrs. John T. Hurst and Mrs. William Yan Allen. Those present from Ogdou were Mrs. Frank M. Diggs, Mrs. Albert noru, Mrs. A. P. BigeJow, Mrs. W. G. Dairymplc, Mrs. Fred Hess, Mrs. J. T. nurst, Mrs. William Van Allen and Mrs. H. M. Rowc. Of Salt Lake City were Mrs. J. F Grant and Miss Jauo Howat. Miss Stella Warren entertained about a score of her jrirl friends Tuesday aft-crnoou, aft-crnoou, followed by an informal musi-calo, musi-calo, in compliment to hor guest, Miss Edith Roland of Sacramento. The parlor par-lor was gay with masses of roses, whito and pink. Commencement woek of tho Sacred Heart academy has occupied tho attention atten-tion of social circles this week, especially espe-cially anions thoso having friends or relatives attending tho school. Tuesday Tues-day evening was essay ovening and Wednesday was junior day. Thursday the graduating exercises took place, and Thursday evening tho class was iuitiated into tho alumnae of the association asso-ciation of tho ncadomy. Later in tho evening a reception wa"s given in honor of tho class by the members of the alumnae. Miss Ircuc Hendricks was hostess Monday afternoon at a Kensington, about a aosscu of her girl friends being present. Tho rooms wero bright with quantities of roses aud syringa, red aud whito being used entirely in tho color idea. Miss Pearl Elliott entertained tho members of her sowing club Wednesday afternoon. Prominent among tho weddings of the month was that of Miss Katherine McCrory and C. E. Bohn, which took placo in Salt Lako City Tuesday afternoon, aft-ernoon, the Rov. E. I. Goshen of the Congregational church porformiuir the ceromony. The brido has mado her homo in tho city for tho past fow years, having been a teacher at tho high schooL Mi and Mrs. Bohn will make their homo in Ogden, ,it the corner of Twenty-fifth street and Monroo avenue, ave-nue, and- will bo at homo after August Au-gust 1. The marriage of Miss Ada T. Whittlesey, Whit-tlesey, daughtor of Mrs. D. E. Gleason, lo W. F. Rudiger took placo at tho homo of the bride's mother Monday after-uoon. after-uoon. The marriago ceremony was read by the Rev. J. E. Carver of the Presbyterian Pres-byterian church, and was witnessed by only a few near friends and relatives Mr. and Mrs. Rudiger left on tho afternoon aft-ernoon train for Colorado Springs and will spend about two weeks on a wedding wed-ding trip through Colorado. They will roturn to Ogdon aud inako their homo here. ' An interesting musicale of Thursday evening was that given by the Fourth Ward choir, assisted bv Orson Griffin, Hagbert Anderson and Mrs. Fred Clark, Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Coltman of Idaho Falls, Ida., were in tho city this week to attend tho commencement exercises of tho Sacred Heart academy, their daughter, Miss Alice Coltman, being ono of tho graduates. Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Kane of Poch-tello, Poch-tello, Ida., wero Ogden visitors this week, comiug hero to attend tho graduating gradu-ating exercises of tho Sacred Heart academy, where their daughter, Miss Kathleen Kane, complotcd ner course. Tho Martha society mot Monday at the home of Mrs. Adam Patterson on Jefferson Jef-ferson avenue. Mrs. E. C. Manson has returned after a several wooks' visit with relatives in the East, She was accompanied homo by her niece, Mis3 Margaret Martin of Dayton, O. Miss Eva Woodward of Colorado Springs is the guest of Miss Margaret Walker for a month or two. Mrs. Bouschel entertained the members mem-bers of tho Tolstoi circle Tuesday afternoon aft-ernoon at her homo on Cahoon avenue. ave-nue. Miss Daisy Grcono has returned from California. In tho dining-room tho sisters of tho brido presided. Miss Amy Clay was bridesmaid and Parley James of Salt Lako City was best man. The bride looked lovely in a dress of bluo silk with trimmings qf real lace, and sho carried a shower bouquet or bride's roocs. Mr. nnd Mrs. Wallace will make their homo in Salt Lake City and will bo at homo to their friends after July 1. |
