Jennings and Dr. Union Worthinglon of tho tract on tho west side of "West Temple, adjoining the property now owned by Simon Bron., who aro preparing prepar-ing to erect .a five-story business . building. The property has a frontage of sixty-fiv feet, which with tho prop-ert' prop-ert' already owned by Mr. Jennings adjoining the Strevell-Paterson Hard-waro Hard-waro company will givb a frontage of ninety-nine feet and extending back 165 feet. It is tho intention of tho new owners to erect a business building which will ' occup3 tho entire property. It will bo a live-story structure.0 similar in general gen-eral design to the building of Simon Bros, o definito plans as yet have been decided upon for tho building, as it is not yet known to just what use the building will be dovotcd, but Mr. Jennings said Saturday that several plans were under consideration by the owners, one of which, made recently by a Colorado man, was for the erection or a fireproof hotel. Tf this proposition is accepted, the lower floor will be used ior stores. Tenants now on the property havo been notified to vacate bv Julv'J, and it is intended to start work on the new building within thirty davs. The stono structure next to the Strevcll-Paterson .Hardware company is a part of the old Continental hotel, which was once-a well known hostelry of Salt. Lake City and which in earlv days occupied the entire corner. The erection of this new building will remove the old laudmark. |
