Show T. R. SIMPSON THREATENS TO COMMIT SUICIDE T. U. Simpson of litis West First North si reel, an engineer on the Denver fc Ulo Grande railway, attempted to commit sulfide by shooting, at his home, about 1:.10 o'clock- Friday night, but his wife, with Avhom he had duarreled about noon and again about 7 o'clock, got the weapon away from him and defeated his purpose. Simpson, who was drinking heavily most of the day. appeared determined to carry out his purpose of ending his life, and the police were called. As Simpson's condition, from heavy drinking, apparently, apparent-ly, seemed lo be serious. Dr. C. M. Benedict Bene-dict Avns summoned and administered opiates that relieved Simpson of pnlu and put. him to sleep. One of Simpson's motives for attempting attempt-ing self-destruction Is supposed to have been his lay-off for ninety days on account ac-count of the railway employees' strike.
