Inspector of Police Edward S, Whitakor. who was today suspended, with five of his detectives, de-tectives, for shooting at Editor Joseph M. Lcvequc of tho Morning World last night, says ho believed himself .iiiHti-fied .iiiHti-fied in resenting the abuso Levequo had heaped upon him in his paper. I Edward P. Huberts, a cop' reader, was. today identified ns the young man who probably saved the editor's life. The inspector of police is a large man, being considerably over six feot and weighing over 200 pounds, but Roberts, who -is a Jit tic fellow, succeeded iu getting get-ting to him and preventing his aim from being true. The inspector and his five detectives who figure in the shooting were arraigned ar-raigned today. All pleaded not guilty and bail was furnished. Tho charge is shooting with intent to kill.
