OCR Text	Show LAND GRAFTER ESCAPES WITH LIGHT SENTENCE CARSON, Nov.. Jan. C In the United SUites court this morning T. 13. Hardin, under Indictment for the Illegal fencing of Government land, entered a plea of guilty, nnd this afternoon ho was sentenced by Judge Farrlnglon to twenty-four hours In the Humboldt county jail nnd to pay a lino of $1000. In passing sentence, Judge Farrlnglon staled that as this was the first term of court that Indictments had boon returned for crises of this character, ho had made the sentences light, but that if any other Indictments were returned at another session ses-sion of th? Federal court the defendants should not hope for leniency.
