Nancy has recently undergone n muscle transplant operation. She and Kay were roommates when both were stricken with polio some months ago. One of the active study groups of the Orchard area wore guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. Drexel Beckinan at a regular study group meeting on Sunday evening, Jan. 5. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Henri Frederiksen, Mrs. Jacquita Clark, Mr. and Mrs. George Alder, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Troth, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Buchanan and the hosts. The study group to which the Arthur T. Morleys belong met in regular study session on Sunday, evening, Jan. 5 at the Morley home. PAT JOHNSON Phone AX 5-1252 Miss Kathy McClain, daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert McClain, is suffering from the flu which has interrupted her plans for hospitalization and surgery. She was to have had some bone fusion work done to 'stabilize her foot which was weakened as a result of an attack at-tack of polio. Present plans call for her admission to the hospital on Tuesday of next week. It is planned that she xv ill be hospitalized for about a week but will have to have the foot in a cast until spring. The family of Mr. and Mrs. Elwin Jensen of the Orchard the home of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Vic-tor Clarkson. Miss Kingsbury is a daughter of the foster parents par-ents of Mr. Clarkson. Joan Liebclt, daughter of Mr and Mrs. Gus Liebclt is proudly proud-ly displaying an engagement diamond presented to her by Gary Glissmeyer, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Glissmeyer of the Bountiful Third ward. Gary is scheduled to leave in February on an LDS mission. Mr. and Mrs. Lendos Page of Provo, were recent visitors at the home of the mother of Mr. Page, Mrs. Nellie Page who has been ill for some time Mrs. Gus Liebclt was a recent re-cent visitor in Nevada where she went to participate in the an operation which she underwent under-went the latter part of November. Novem-ber. The Village Drug was the recent scene of a family dinner given by Amasa Howard in honor of the birthday of his daughter, Mrs. Victor Clarkson A group of Orchard ward friends were guests of Mr. and Mrs. S. Larry Moss at a party at their home on East Center street in Bountiful on December Decem-ber 27. They report a most enjoyable en-joyable time. Mrs. Arch Peterson has been able to recently return to her work with the school lunch program after several days of forced absence due to a severe "strep" throat. Orrin Tibbits enjoyed a holi day vacation from his work and spent the complete time at home with his family. He says that he got "caught up" on many things that he had hoped to do for some time. New Years day of that vacation vaca-tion was spent in tobagganing with his family. Robert, oldest son of the Tibbitts, recently returned re-turned from service with the reserve unit at Fort Ord. Only Mr. Jensen and their daughter Venita are reported to have been well enough to assist the others. i Mr. and Mrs. Kim Olsen . spent a good part of the holiday holi-day season in California. The , chief object and purpose of their visit was to enjoy the season with their daughter Gayle and her husband and baby. They returned to their home just after the first of the year. . Mrs. Neal Lamb is another resident of the Orchard area whose holiday fun. was interrupted inter-rupted by sickness. She is reported re-ported much improved at this writing. Rozalind Kingsbury of Salt Lake, formerly of Malad, Ida. was a dinner guest Sunday at nuptial festivities and ceremony cere-mony of one of her nephews. The wedding ceremony took place in the St. George temple Mrs. Fern Newman attended attend-ed the funeral of her father, Edward Johnson of Brigham City, Utah on Wednesday, Jan. 8. Her husband could not go with her due to his confinement confine-ment in a Salt Lake hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Victor Ash were holiday guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur T. Morley. They visited for a short time during the leave of Mr. Ash from his duties in the armed forces in California. Mrs. Ash will be remembered by her many friends as Miss Carole Morley, daughter of the hosts. Miss Kay Clarkson, daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. G. Victor Clarkson spent Sunday visiting visit-ing a friend, Nancy Hill of Kearns, Utah in her confine- Mr. and Mrs. Waller Moss entertained the study group to which they belong at a gala New Year's party in which a most enjoyable time was reported re-ported by all. The same group met in regular study session on Sunday evening, Jan. 5 at the new home of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Moss. Mr. and Mrs. Wendel Cheney and family recently returned to their California home after spending some weeks at the home of Mrs. David Howard of South Bountiful. Boun-tiful. They had come to be present at the funeral of the father of Mrs. Cheney, David Howard, and had remained since the week before Xmas until January 6 to be with their mother. Friends of Mrs. Orin Tibbitts Tib-bitts will b cpleased to know that she is feeling better after a rather severe round with the flu. Greater than normal concern con-cern for her has been felt as she is still recuperating, from |
