Show ABOUT PORT DOUGLAS Various Happenings at the Military Post of Uncle Sam. The Infantry troops of this command, under MaJ. Robert L Hirst. Twenty-ninth Twenty-ninth infantry, tho rear being brought up by a detachment of the hospital corps, participated yesterday in one of the regular practice marches for the cur-n cur-n nt month. They left the post In the early morning, and after a circuitous march, proceeded to Liberty park, returning return-ing to the post at 12:20 p. m. Tho regimental dance to be given In the post hall this evening Is the first of the season under the reorganized committee In future those entertainments will be. given weekly, and should prove very popular, for the reason that all undesirable unde-sirable elements are excluded, while nothing noth-ing Is absent that would contribute to real enjoyment. Private Klmore was discharged from the Twelfth battery, F A . yesterday, and has decided to re-enlist In the service for the Ninth battery F. A., stationed at the Pnsldlo, San Francisco. Cal. William .1 Martin of New York City enlisted yesterday at the fort for the Nineteenth battery, ib id artillery IIo Is u lawyer by pr ni" slon. and his father Is a practicing member of the New York City bar. with ofllees on Broadway. Of course the percentage of lawyers In the rank and Ale Is small, still all tho professions profes-sions and all the known trades are represented repre-sented among the boys In blue. |
