Show PREPARING PLANS FORJWJUHDISG Large Office Structure Will Be Erected on Old Descret News Corner. Affairs have finally taken on a definite outline as concerns tho disposition that Is to be mado of the old Descret News corner, and It has been announced that the portion of the site lying Immediately south of the Brigham Young Memorial building will be occupied by a church office structure. The plans of the building build-ing have not been completed in detail, but It Is said that it will have a frontage of 50 feet on East Temple strcot. and will extend along Temple avenue as far as may bo needed. It Is to consist of four stories nnd basement. The basement and first floor will bo occupied by the presiding bishops, the second floor by the Relief societies of the church, the third floor by the Young Ladles' Mutual Improvement association, and the fourth floor by the Primary associations as-sociations of the church. Work on the building is to be begun at once, ns the Relief societies and the . L M. I. A. have already raised part of the funds. This will leave a site with 280 feet of frontage on East Temple street and 330 feet on South Temple street, on which a Joseph Smith Memorial building Is to be erected In the near future. It will Include the offics of the general authorities author-ities of the church, the historian sofneo and a church museum. |
