Pearsons, Pear-sons, philanthropist and stockholder In the Chit ago National bank. Mr. Pearsons' enjoyment of what he calls "Walsh's decline and fall off," is due to his unshaken belief that the new directorate will bring both depositors and stockholders through without loss. That much conceded, the college benefactor bene-factor lakes the position that his $40,000 tied up In 132 shares, entitles him to whatever humor he can llnd In the situation. sit-uation. "John R. Walsh was a mighty smart man. but no banker," said Mr. Pearsons last night. ' Friend John certainly has mixed things up. He was altogether too sanguine to make a good banker, and now he Is reaping the result. "Of course, I would not be talking like this if I did not believe that everybody every-body would come out of I't unscathed. People can say what they have a mind to, but I, who have known John R. Walsh for forty-five years, know that he is an honest man, and that his Investments In-vestments ultimately will pan out all right. ' |
