As a result Convict Joseph Davis, Da-vis, serving a three years' sentence for attempted robbery in San FranclSCO, Is In the custody of the Sheriff on a charge of arson. Davis has confessed to both attempts to burn the mill and Warden Tompkins swore to the complaint against him His preliminary hearing and trial will be rushed In un effort to make an example ex-ample of him for the benefit of tho other convicts. .
