Show ON IHCHIGAN'S GRIDIRON. Great Crowd Witnessed Defeat of Chicago Chi-cago at Ann Arbor. ANN ARBOR, Mich' Nov. 12. The largest crowd ever gathered about Michigan's gridiron saw the Chicago-Michigan Chicago-Michigan game today. A strong wind blew directly from east to west goal and threatened to upset calculations? on the game by giving- the victory to the best punter. Chicago won the toss and chose the wind-favored goal. Michigan kicked off to Chicago's 15-yard 15-yard line. For the first ten yards Chicago Chi-cago held finely and then Heston, Hammond Ham-mond and Longman rushed straight to a touchdown with long gains. Tom Hammond made the touchdown, but failed to kick goal. Score: Michigan, 5; Chicago, 0. Chicago then kicked off to Michigan's 20-yard line. Michigan was never once stopped and rushed the length of the field for a second touchdown. Tom Hammond made It. The kick put failed and no goal was attempted. Score: Michigan, 10; Chicago, 0. After Michigan's next kick-off Chicago Chi-cago took a wonderful brace. Held on their 20-yard line, the Maroons resorted to a punt Eckersall sent the leather fifty yards over Norcross head and It rolled for a touchdown. Michigan kicked to mldficld with apparent ease. Bezdek made the greatest gains and went over for touchdown. Parry kicked goal. Michigan. 10; Chicago. 6. Michigan kicked off to Chicago and held the Maroons for downs on Chicago's Chica-go's 32-yard line. Tom Hammond carried car-ried the ball around Kennedy for fifteen fif-teen yards. From there by terrific bucking buck-ing Michigan went over Chicago's goal. Heston made the score. Hammond goaled. Score: Michigan, 16, Chicago, Chica-go, 6. Chicago braced wonderfully and for twenty minutes held the great Wolverines Wolver-ines at will. Finally Michigan took the ball on Its 20-yard line, made a straight march to touchdown. Heston went over and Hammond kicked the goal. Score: Michigan. 22; Chicago. 12, Parry and Bezdek and Catlln were hurt resisting Michigan's plunges and retired. During the remainder of the half the ball seesawed near mldficld and no more scores were made. Boone was ruled off the field and Walker took his place. Score at end of flrst half: Michigan, 16; Chicago, 6. Immediately after the second half opened Heston fumbled and Eckersall scooped up the ball on Michigan's 30-yard 30-yard line and sprinted to a touchdown. Spldell kicked goal.
