In Police court yesterday. yester-day. The men were arrested In tho Bed Onion gambllng-hourte. Beal had displayed dis-played the gun thero and afterward deposited de-posited it with tho bnrtendor in the saloon sa-loon below. When the police arrested Beal they also took his partner, Bell, and found tho knuckles in his pocket. Both mon pleaded guilty. Bell said they were railroad men from Pueblo, Colo. They had started for Goldfleld, Nov., and went ' broke In Salt Lake. Thev pawned Bell's revolver and got work with an Oregon Short Uno bridge gang, where they worked i fteen days. Thev returned Saturday and redeemed, re-deemed, the gun, about half an hour before be-fore thoy wcro arrested- Bell said they carried tho weapons for protection whon on the road. Beal declared de-clared that ho way carrying the gun In a holster and hud flashed It in the Red Onion simply to idiow that he was prepared pre-pared for hold-ups. Judge Dlchl postponed post-poned sentence until today, to give tho police a chnnco to look up tho records of tho two men. |
