Mont., mining men, havo Just returned to Ca-llento Ca-llento from St. George, Utah, where they went to buy mules to use on a trip to the Kawlch counlr. Thoy visited the Utah & Eastern company's mines and smelter whllo absent, and state that they aro taking out nnd smelting somo of the finest high-grade copper ore In Utah. Messrs. Corey and Cook aro now testing test-ing ores from the Louisiana Purchase mines, which lie three miles east from Callente, and on which considerable development de-velopment work has been completed. The ore from this company's mines Is a low-grade, low-grade, frec-mllllnc; oro. M. J. Whalcn. owner -of the Fourth of July group of mines, twelve In number, four miles north of Callente, was In camp today with samples of uranium which he has Just struck In ono of hl claims Morris & Smith of Denver have taken an option on the Don Juan group of copper-gold claims, north from Las Vegas from Smith & Flick, their owners, for one year, for S1000.
