O'Brien's wife had Just been confined, and whllo she was 111 her husband took advantage of her little child In her sleep. The minimum punishment that O'Brien can get Is live years' Imprisonment In the State prison. No maximum penalty Is sot by tho law of this State. Considering Judge Armstrong's reputation In tho way of giving sentences, the prisoner has every reason to bo frightened, He was convicted without much difficulty. District Attorney Fred C. Loofbourow prosecuted for the State and Judge Pardee defended tho prisoner. The jury brought in its verdict after but a short deliberation.
