G. -r 4- Kennison, president Miners' -t- 4- union No. -10 of Cripple Creek, 4- Avas arrested this afternoon by City Marshal Moore of Goldficld 4- as he was going to the head- 4- quarters of the deportod miners 4- 4; In this city. The charge against 4- 4- him Is murder for alleged parti- 4- 4- cipation In tho blowing up of the 4- 4- Independence depot with dyna- 4- 4- mite. 4- 4- Kennison did not resist arrest 4- 4- but after his arrest ho got Into 4- 4- an altercation with Moore, and 4- 4- the marshal struck his prisoner 4- 4- on the head with a gun, making 4- 4- a scalp wound. 4- 4- Kennison declared that he 4- 4- knew nothing of the explosion 4- and sent for William D. Hay- 4- 4- wood, secretary of the Western 4- 4- Federation of Miners. An at- 4- 4- tempt will be made to secure a 4- 4- writ of habeas corpus for Kenni- 4" 4- son and prevent his removal to 4- 4- tho jurisdiction of Adj. -Gen. 4- 4- Bell. 4- 4- The Sheriff's office here has a 4- 4- number of warrants for other 4- 4- men who are wanted at Cripple 4- 4- Creek. 4-4-4-4- 4-4-4-4-4-4-4- 4-4:4-4- |
