Show Cement "Workers' Strike. Thirteen new men were employed yesterday yes-terday by the Portland Cement company com-pany to take the places of that number num-ber of ithc forty -employees who are on strike. No further overtures were made yesterday as between the "strikers and the company. Manager L. il. Bailey said last evening that he anticipated no trouble in obtaining enough help to run the works in a satisfactory manner, but that he was willing to treat with any of the old men who would come to him ns individuals. He would not in any contingency, he said, do business with tho union. |
