"Our performance at the Salt Palace, theater which has been booked by Mr. Athon has not been sathifactory, and we came to the conclusion to put in a manager who could secure high-grade acts, the new manager taking the house June 27. Mr. Chirk and Mr. Athon, upon up-on being notified that after this Week their services would be no longer required, re-quired, unless engaged for specialties by the new manager, used language unbecoming un-becoming gentlemen, until it became necessary for Officer Heath to order them to keep quiet or leave, and they left, "I have no contract with either of them to work any certain length of time, and therefore have a perfect right to discontinue business relations at any time. We have had no trouble with any of our other performers, all being satisfied. satis-fied. As to salaries, I wish to say that they are all paid, and when Mr. Clark says he has salary due him ho Is wrong, as salaries are not due until next Sunday. Sun-day. "They tried to get the other performers perform-ers to help make matters worse, but credit is duo the other performers for the gentlemanly stand they took. "The- Salt Palace theater will continue to do business ' with first-class shows. Under the new management acts will bo secured from the best vaudeville houses In America." |
